Accurate simulation of the thermoporoelasticity problems is beneficial for the exploitation activities of aquifers, geothermal, and hydrocarbon reservoirs. Simulating such problems using a finite-element Continuous Galerkin scheme (CG) lacks local energy/mass conservation. Despite being a conservative scheme, Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) is computationally expensive with much higher degrees of freedom (DoFs). This paper presents the Enriched Galerkin scheme (EG) implementation for thermoporoelasticity problems to ensure local energy/mass conservation with fewer DoFs.
