This paper reviews several issues concerning the possibility of setting quantitative norms for individual natural parameters and for technogenic loads on the environment resulting from oil and gas facility construction. Such standards are set with the object of effectively planning environmental assessments for projects and forecasts of changes over long periods (up to 50 years) in natural-technical complexes or in individual sites. The determination of certain complex or simple inter-relationships involving the oil and gas facility system permits quantitative determination of system stability at both regional and local levels.
