This paper deals with a data base created for design and analysis of cavitating screw propellers for high-speed craft. The data base consists of hydrodynamic and geometry characteristics of several systematic series of cavitating propellers. Some peculiarities are given regarding the general method for mathematical description of these characteristics, especially the proper evaluation of the cavitation number influence.
Generally, oblique flow propeller operation is considered taking into account the normal force as well.
A number of design and analysis procedures are created with subsequent computer programs developed. The database and related computerized procedures were successfully applied in the design of propellers for high speed craft. Some typical examples, illustrating the main possibilities for dealing with the data base and application software created are also presented.
