Advantages of quasi-steady method in estimating propeller bearing forces are examined. It was found that the three-dimensional response of the propeller blade in sinusoidal gust is well predicted by the gust averaged a long the chord with weight f unction similar to the vortex distribution of a flat plate. Using this idea, a modified quasi-steady method for calculating propeller bearing forces was constructed. Comparison of the calculated results with model and full scale data showed good agreement and effectiveness of this met hod in practical application was shown.
