The combined influences of aspect-radio, dimensionless-velocity and material properties of ice in estimating ice-induced pressures on structures is discussed. A large number of model test data, medium and full-scale test data, involving freshwater-ice, sea-ice, and model-ice, have been analyzed in the context of dimensional analysis and similarity concepts. Based on these analyses, dimensionless ice induced pressure (Pe/Piu2) is expressed as a function of aspect ratio (B/H), dimensionless velocity (U/Vgh) as dimensionless -material properties (17j-Vh/K/c.Influence of aspect ratio and dimensionless velocity on dimensionless ice-induced pressure is quantitatively established. Influence of dimensionless material properties on dimensionless ice induced pressure is qualitatively indicated.
