This paper presents an approach to analyzing individual wave slam events to better understand the cause-and-effect physical relationships between impact loading and craft acceleration response. These motions are of interest because a broader awareness and a better understanding of loading phenomena and response mechanics could lead to improvements in model-scale to full-scale comparative evaluations, computer simulation validation, or design applications that address multiple factors associated with seaworthiness, including hull design loads, component ruggedness, and crew or passenger comfort and safety.
