This paper presents the measured resistance of a trimaran model at the small towing tank at Dalhousie University, Canada. The towing tank has the dimensions of 30m x 1m x 1m. Experiments were carried out for a trimaran with various configurations of outrigger setbacks and hull spacings. Model test results were compared with numerical solutions based on the thin-ship theory and tent functions. They agree well except at high speeds. It was observed that water shipping on the deck during model tests at high speeds. This may cause the measured resistances greater than the theoretically predicted values.
