Dip measurements obtained from wireline logs can be collected more effectively when proper planning and quality control procedures are followed. Computer processing of the measurements can be more efficient when the purpose of the survey is known. Specific input parameters and auxiliary programs can refine the dip results. Acceptable dip arrow plots can best be evaluated for their geological meaning when the analyst makes use of all available resources.
