Member Pricing and Benefits
Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) members receive a member discount on all conference papers, journal articles, and book content published by SPE on OnePetro.
If You Haven't Already, Join or Renew Your SPE Membership Today!
SPE members should look for the "Buy With Membership Price" button when purchasing SPE content. You must be logged into a personal account on OnePetro and have linked your SPE membership to your OnePetro account to see member pricing. If you do not see the SPE pricing (example below) you need to link your SPE membership to your SPE account. See below for instruction on connecting your accounts.
Connecting your SPE membership to your OnePetro Account
To access SPE member pricing, active SPE members must connect their OnePetro account to their SPE account. First, either Register or Sign In. Once Signed in, click on your name and then select My Memberships.
On the My Memberships page select SPE from the Membership drop down menu.
When the Sign In box appears, SPE members will need to enter the Sign in information used on www.spe.org, This is not your OnePetro Sign In.
When you have successfully linked your SPE membership, it will appear in the list of active memberships on the My Memberships page and you will now have access to member pricing, free member downloads, and access to purchased journals.
Free Paper Downloads for SPE Members
In addition to member pricing, active SPE Professional members receive 10 free downloads of SPE conference papers and/or journal articles per year. After you have linked your SPE account to your OnePetro account you will see a Spend a Download button on eligible SPE papers and articles. This button can be found at the bottom of each paper detail page.
Visit the My Download Packages page to see how many downloads you have remaining.
Access your SPE Journal Subscriptions
When you connect your SPE account to your OnePetro account, the SPE journals that you have subscription to are added to your library. You can view your subscriptions on the My Library page. You will know that you have access to an article as there is a green check mark at the end of the title of each article.
As an added benefit, users of OnePetro that are members with the following societies receive discounts and/or free downloads each year.
Yearly Member Download Benefits specific to society
- ISRM offers 100 ISRM paper downloads
- SNAME offers 20 SNAME paper downloads
- SPE offers 10 SPE paper downloads (does not include OTC), member pricing for SPE papers, and free access to SPE articles or proceedings published prior to 1990
- ARMA offers member pricing for ARMA papers
ARMA Members:
The username will be the same as your primary email address on file with ARMA and the password is your last name. After clicking submit, if the error below appears, we recommend you contact ARMA and/or sign in to the ARMA website to verify the primary email address matches what was entered in the Username field.
When you have successfully linked your membership, it will appear in the list of active memberships on the My Memberships page, and you will now have access to the member pricing.
ARMA members receive ARMA member pricing on ARMA items.
You should now see the "Buy with Membership Price" button on any ARMA papers.
ISRM and SNAME Members:
You will need to enter your sign in credentials for that specified society. If you receive the error below, we recommend that you sign-in to your profile on the society's website and/or contact the society for additional assistance. Once you've verified the login credentials, please close all open browsing sessions, and try again.
When you have successfully linked your membership, it will appear in the list of active memberships on the My Memberships page, and you will now have access to the member pricing and/or free downloads.
To utilize your free downloads (ISRM & SNAME) please scroll to the bottom of each paper detail page and click the orange/yellow box that says Spend a Download.
