Abstract

In this paper, the procedure for design and construction of the physical model for a shaking table test was presented. The model which consisted of a circular underground’s scaled model, a simulated ground, and a rigid soil container was placed on a 2x2 m shaking table for the modelling of seismic effect on the underground. The model calibration was executed and the lateral vibration of the model was analysed. The obtained results confirmed the stability of the model during the shaking table test, and the smooth transfer of seismic waves from the table to the model.
