Abstract

When preparing project documentation for the construction of buildings that need to cut in the slope, in the part where the global stability calculations of the slope are made, the possibility of significant changes in slope geometry over the structure design life is often neglected. Modification of the slope geometry, combined with an alteration of the slope material properties, can have a negative impact on the structure safety. The Fisher Lehmann model of the change of slope geometry during the structure design life is presented on the example of an abandoned construction site on Bračka Street in Split. Furthermore, the effects of weathering factors on changes in soil/rock parameters over time are explained through a laboratory weathering simulation model.
