Digitalization of deepwater production facilities (floating and subsea units, topside modules, risers, umbilicals, pipelines, and flowlines) has been determined as an effective way to significantly reduce the life-cycle costs, enhance production levels, enable remote operations, improve personnel safety, and reduce environmental pollution. A digitalized production facility requires additional infrastructure (e.g., sensors) on physical facilities, computing power at the floating platform and at the cloud, drones (air, underwater), communication facilities, and secured access to the cloud platform. The Panelists from companies involved in the field development, delivery, operations, and maintenance of facilities will identify approaches incorporated in their work-processes and in the development of digitalized facilities. The value from the digital twins, at the floating system and at the module/unit levels, will be discussed. The challenges and opportunities from digitalization and its impact on the roles of different groups of companies will be discussed.
