A few months after signing the first Brazilian PSC, the Libra Consortium agreed to launch a bold de-risking strategy to unveil the uncertainties of a brand new ultradeepwater block. The itinerant EWT campaign is a key element of this strategy, enabling long-term dynamic data acquisition, including field scale tests of miscible gas injection. The intensive use of intelligent completions and remote pressure monitoring increases the value of this information, reducing the number of required appraisal wells. This session will detail the fast-track Libra EWT project innovative solutions to overcome a very challenging scenario in ultra-deep water, dealing with a reservoir fluid with high GOR and high CO2 content. These solutions include a dedicated itinerant turret moored FPSO, the pre-laying of 8 inch flexible lines with buoyance modules and the reinjection of the produced gas through a 550bar swivel. The safe application of these technologies allowed Libra Consortium to achieve productions as high as 58 kboed in a single well, gas injection rates as high 99 MMscf also in a single well, on top of a valuable set of dynamic information to calibrate the reservoir models. All these efforts will support the safe and profitable fast-track development of four production systems, representing over 20 billion dollars CAPEX investment.
