This paper presents the procedures, best practices and results of a coiled tubing project on the first unconventional completion using the multistage fracturing technique onshore in the United Kingdom, to achieve commercial gas flow rates from the inland shale formations. The main goal of the coiled tubing operations was to deliver multiple hydraulic fracturing stages through the CT/tubing annulus in a single run; but the versatile technology was used for a wide range of intervention activities during the project.
