Usually Marine Verification of Offshore Development projects have been performed based on traditional Marine Warranty Survey, an undertaking by the assured to confirm requirements laid down by the insurer in the Energy Insurance Policy.
In today’s market situation, both financial and other liabilities that may be incurred as a result of an accident or occurrence during marine operations can be devastating. This fact in it self emphasis the importance of properly defined scope, technical sound and applicable references and adequate methods for execution of marine verification work.
DNV has been involved in verification of marine operations for more than three decades. Through this time we have continuously been aiming at methods, qualities and approaches that would increase the value of our services. This paper summarize experiences gained, and present the verification philosophies we believe will represent a contribution to today's environment of fast field developments involving a large number of contractors and subcontractors.
