The following workshop applies commonly available geological, well, and production information to review performance efficiency. Basic reservoir analysis concepts, as well as spreadsheet formulations, are the only tools required for a multitask field analysis. Ultimately, the study provides an alternative depletion plan to maximize recovery from a candidate reservoir.
Fig. 11.1 shows a flow chart for the study. Note the progression from reservoir reconnaissance, data gathering, and in-depth evaluation to, finally, concrete conclusions and recommendations for modifying future performance. Here are a few details of note regarding the sections outlined in Fig. 11.1 :
Because oil fields differ in character and quality, the proposed work-study program may not exactly model your reservoir. However, the thinking process engendered during the discussion of applying generally available field information to study a reservoir can be used to evaluate the remaining potential for most fields.
