If someone had told me many years ago that I’ll spend the greater part of my career as a petroleum economist, I’d have given them a very blank look because, back then, I had no idea what a petroleum economist was. But if, instead, they’d said I’ll spend the greater part of my career wrestling with some real and significant intellectual and analytical challenges in helping to inform sometimes multibillion-dollar decisions working alongside just about every professional discipline under the sun in an industry that makes the world go round, my eyes would have lit up.

That’s the world petroleum economists live in.
