ABSTRACT: Understanding natural fracture systems is essential in prospecting reservoir opportunities. In this sense, it is necessary to integrate the available information that allows generating a suitable conceptual model of the fracture network. Accurate characterization of natural fractures types, their attributes and evolution can help constrain the impact on the reservoir. This paper aims to show the workflow applied in this sense to study the Huitrín Formation located in a complex structural area in the Malargüe Fold and Thrust Belt, in western Argentina. This involves the analysis of information from both subsurface and outcrop analogue, including 3D seismic data, cores, borehole images, outcrop scanlines, and petrographic thin sections. Also, two softwares were used to obtain models of fracture distribution across the area through different modelling approaches.
