Après avoir présenté un schéma des grandes unités stratigraphiques et structurales africaines, l'auteur expose les conditions géologiques qui résultent des travaux eflectués jusqu'ici dans les bassins français de la côte occidentale et plus particulièrement du Cameroun et du Gabon (Afrique Equatoriale Française). Il y indique également les problèmesposés par la recherche du pétrole, et les résultats obtenus. Passani ensuite h la partie orientale de l'Afrique, l'auteur procède Ù la même desciiption en ce qui concwne Madagascar. After having presented ihe general features of the main stratigraphical and structurul African units, th? author presents the geological conditions as resulting Irom the work hereto achieved in the French basins of the West Const and particularly the Cameroun and Gabon basins (French equnforial dfrica). Informations about the problems involved in prospecting oil and the results obtained are given. Moving to the East part of Africa, the author gives the same kind of account as regards Madagascar. Dopo irver presentato uno schema delle grandi unità stratigrafiche e strutturali africane, l'Autore espone le condizioni geologiche che risultano dai lavori eflettuati finora nei bacini francesi della costa occidentale e più particolarmente del Gabon e del Camerun (Africa Equatoriale Francese). Viene fatto cenno ai problemi relativi alle ricerche petrolifere, ed ai, risultati ottenuti. Passando poi allo parte orientale dell'dfrica, l'Autore procede alla stessa descrizione per quanto si riferisce al Madagascar.
In conclusione, dopo avere riassunto l'assieme delle condizioni sedimentarie e strutturali dei bacini niricani, ed i grandi tratti della loro paleogeograpa, l'Autore si professa ottimista per quanto si riferisce ai risultati finali, malgrado l'aspetto particolare dei problemi trattati.
