i L es principaux problèmes qui se posent actuellement POUT la recherche du pétrole en Italie, peuvent être résumes comme suit: l a Délinzatation des champs de gaz existant dans les plis ensevelis sous les alluvions de la plaine du Pô ;substratrum prolond de ces derniers avec égard special flux reliefs enfouis près du bord de l 'Apennin; 2" Horizons profonds, substratum et position de la formation controversée des argiles écailleuses de l'Apennin Emilien; (i 3" Localisation des accumulations dans le versant adriatique de l'Apennin des Marches et des Abruzzes; 4" Existence de concentrations éventuelles exploitables dans la Vallée Latine; 5" Recherche des accumulations pdtrolifères dans l'Apennin Campano-Lucano, uvec des recherches spéciales dans la zone externe, probablement à tectonique moins tourmentée, interposée entre l'Apennin et les Murge; 6" Recherche d'éventuels gisements pétrolifères profonds en Sacile; problème des imprégnations bitumineuses des tufs de Pachino et d'une façon subordonnde, des calcaires de Raguse.
Pour l'étude de tous ces problèmes, des recherches géologiques et géophysiques sont en GOUTS, ainsi que des sondages qui serout poussés au-delà de 3.000 mètres d ans la plaine Emzlienne.

Existence of possible concentrations fit for mining in the Latin Valley.
Research o{ oil-accumulations in the Canipano-Lucano Apennin, with special researches in the outer zone, which has probably a tectonic more even and is situated between the Apennin and the Aturge. 6.
