The Lower Silurian Longmaxi shale is one of the most favorable layers for shale gas exploration and development today in China. The Longmaxi hot shale has an average TOC of about 2.5%, the kerogen type of which is sapropel. Ro is mainly from 2.4% to 3.8%, which indicates that the shale has reached the post mature stage.
The paper has established a quantitative method and research process of hydrocarbon generation and expulsion of high-over matured shale, with no immature or low-mature samples available in China.
The results the paper achieved is of great significance in understanding the resource potential of the Longmaxi shale contributed inside as shale gas and outside as conventional gas.
