ABSTRACT

The Triassic gas reservoir of J field in Tarim basin is characterized by low structural amplitude, high salinity, and especially low resistivity. In this paper, the causes of the low resistivity were analysized and new methods for evaluating formation water saturation were presented. Compared with formation test data, the results derived from the new technique were much improved.
