ABSTRACT

Technical problems in Formation Evaluation in foreign and domestic areas are similar. Problems encountered in applying available technology are the source of the main differences between domestic and foreign work. To minimize costs and get the most information out of any well, it is necessary to establish and maintain good communications. This is particularly true in foreign operations, and is the main topic of this paper. A computer program is described which may be used as a communications aid in transmitting data on hydrocarbon shows detected while drilling. Geologic uses of well logs are discussed briefly.
