Experiments and simulations showed that the oil recovery behavior of horizontal, gravity-dominated, enriched-gas corefloods is distinctly different from that of one-dimensional slim tubes or corefloods. Additional oil was recovered when the injectant was enriched beyond the one-dimensional minimum miscibility enrichment (1-D MME) level. Mechanisms controlling oil recovery at different injectant compositions are discussed.
