ABSTRACT
Recent application of an in-situ heat and nitrogen generating system has led to a cost effective method of paraffin control for the Department of Energy at the Naval Petroleum Reserve (NPR) #3 in Casper, Wyoming. The combination of in-situ heat, solvent and paraffin inhibitor has not only prolonged productivity but also effectively stimulated the producing zones.
This paper describes paraffin treatments with the in-situ heat generating system in the NPR #3. Case histories showing candidate selection, pre and post treatment production levels and economics are presented.
