Abstract
Major changes were made to conventional mapping procedures. Hundreds of map input values are usually extracted from an interval of interest on each log instead of using an averaged sand thicknesses or a few other properties. Reversible wave, current, gravity, partial derivative, and particle dispersion mathematics are used to model sedimentation processes. Log pattern inversions combined with the above sedimentation emulation technologies have been used to create much more detailed maps of depositional systems.
