This Paper describes how it is possible to modify existing equipment and chemical treatment and effectively separate approximately 94% of water produced and treat it offshore. The aim is to separate water from oil on the platform abiding by environmental regulations and hence reduce operating costs with a defined budget. The engineering described is basically that of creating secondary and tertiary separation at each facility, improving chemical treatment and designing for redundancy and future production increases.
