Abstract

Gas reserves estimation based on the actual well production data has a particular interest due to big spacing for gas fields. Proposed method is based on the differential equation of specific reserves depletion and uses mostly primary well production data. The method was proved on the results from numerical modeling for different reservoir quality and time dependent well completions.

An example of the method application to an actual field development is described with analysis of drainage volume variations in time. The method allows to calculate the values of drainage volumes as a function of time for individual wells, group of wells, pools. Calculation of drainage reserves of the pool in time allow to verify geologic reserves, estimate an effectiveness of its development.
