This paper describes the three-dimensional analysis and visualization of an inclined wellbore during the early stages of the hydraulic fracturing process. The analysis indicates that two or more fractures are developed during the early stages of pumping. Depending on the well inclination, these fractures can be aliped with or intercept the wellbore axis. Further, the fractures interact, twist and turn to align parallel to the preferred fracture plane. Based on this analysis, guidelines for perforation completions are proposed.
