ABSTRACT
This paper documents a procedure used to analyze acoustic pressure buildup data from low flow rate pumping wells in the Haas field North Dakota. Because of excessive wβllbore storage on these tests, the analysis method uses pressure rate deconvolution to eliminate or minimize the wellbore storage effect This results In tests which are economic to run. Furthermore, analysis of the deconvolved data yields results comparable to those obtained from longer duration test Even though we compute the flow rate and pressure from acoustic fluid level measurements, nevertheless, our analysis procedure is general in nature and is applicable to pressure buildup tests for which afterflow rate and pressure data are available.
