A comparison of acid/solvent workovers in 24 wells completed in the Embar Formation, Little Buffalo Basin Field, has shown an alcohol-aromatic solvent mixture to be superior to ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EGMBE) for enhancing acid stimulation of oil-producing wells. The alcohol-aromatic solvent mixture assists acid stimulation by breaking emulsions, as well as dispersing asphaltenes and sludges. Data are presented on comparative job costs and pretreatment production versus performance three months after treatment.
