ABSTRACT
In 1975 Gary Energy Corporation, as operator of the Bell Creek Field, entered into a cost sharing contract with ERDA (now DOE) to develop a 160 acre (6.5 × 105 m2) micellar-polymer pilot project in the Bell Creek Muddy Sand Unit "A". This paper reviews the micellar process used, design of the pilot facilities, and operation of these facilities in the successful injection of the necessary chemicals at this pilot project.
