New training technologies being developed for petroleum engineers are discussed. Present capabilities of personal computers make it possible to simulate life-like situations in the classroom. A training simulation of an oilfield will be demonstrated together with comments on experiences using this model in classroom training. New directions in computer-aided training will be discussed.
