It is now 15 years since the first research version of BLUE-PACK 3-D was developed at the Centre de Geostatistique of the Paris School of Mines in Fontainebleau (France). It has taken 15 years time to test and adapt the results of Prof Matheron's works to the industrial world. Today BLUE-PACK 3-D is considered as the leading product for applied geostatistics by the major petroleum companies as well as major institutions in other fields of Earth Resource Management such as oceanography, hydrogeology, forestry, dredging, mining… The purpose of this paper is to review the features included in the latest version of the package (Release VI) and to illustrate how it is used for kriging (i.e. estimation) and for simulating spatially distributed variables.
