A problem for many microcomputer users is the difficulty of interfacing different software programs. Often the output and results from one program is the input and data needed for another. Most likely the two programs are by different software writers or venders, are incompatible and no means exists to easily interface the two. The ability to link data and petroleum application programs can be solved using data files and spreadsheet or database programs. This interfacing technique is performed by having the spreadsheet or database program reformat or reorganize the output of one petroleum application program for use as input for the next application program.
