The paper will discuss the philosophy and strategy in the implementation of the first stage of the Malaysian Peninsular Gas Utilisation Project. The focus will be on project management, technology transfer, local participation and the lessons from the experience. The project is implemented in three stages. Stage I, which involves the processing and delivery of gas within Terengganu is now completed. Stage II, which involves the piping of gas to the power stations in Port Kelang and Port Dickson and southward to Singapore is under initial implementation. Stage III, delivery to the north, will be implemented later.
