Abstract
This paper describes the fracturing behavior of the Pictured Cliffs (PC) formation and evaluates the containment properties of the bounding intervals of the PC: the Fruitland formation and the Lewis Shale. Evidence will be presented on modifications to PC treatments that allowed proppant to be placed more effectively in the upper, most productive intervals of the Main PC. Bottomhole treating pressure (BHTP) analysis of modified and unmodified PC treatments will be presented in the form of history-matches using in a three-dimensional (3D) fracture model.
