Through automation it is possible to remotely monitor and control production fields seeking to guarantee maximum production, minimum operating cost, and extending the useful life of the equipment.

The objective of the Automation scheme shown in this work consists of integrating all the steps needed to optimize a well through advanced control techniques that would comprehend three modules; a) Automatic Acquisition of Data (Field Instrumentation and Acquisition Systems); b) Real Time Data Processing and Issuing of recommendations (here we have Mathematical Modeling, Real Time Expert Systems, Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Simulation Models); c) Control over field variables, allowing the application of the recommendations obtained in b)
