ABSTRACT
The deliverability of Amoco operated wells in the four main fields in the Arkoma Basin has been improved by the installation of wellsite compression. The compressor candidates were identified by a compressor simulation test. A study investigated the economics of purchasing versus leasing a wellsite compressor. Compressors were installed and the success of the installation depended on the initial sizing parameters used and the reservoir characteristics. Several operational improvements evolved which enhanced the profitability of these installations.
