The open/cased hole Inflatable Whipstock Anchor, (IWA), was designed to operate in a wide range of casing weights and hole sizes. It was originally conceived for cased hole applications but has proven adaptable to certain open hole applications. The goal was to build a whipstock anchor that would benefit a customer who needs to mill a window in old or damaged casing and reduce response time to the customers request by having a tool available that could be used in various hole sizes.
