This paper presents a remarkable insight on energy efficiency and cost optimization executed in Mangala Processing Terminal (MPT), an oil field block of Cairn India Limited (CIL) in Rajasthan. The process of optimization involves data analysis and mass balance prudently analyzing the bottle necks and addressing the issues with recommended outcomes. The optimization technique, thus implemented, caused overall operational cost reduction and energy saving as the consequences in its initial phase of implementation. Energy import reduced by about 50% and operational cost was cut down by approximately $350K/mnth.
