Abstract
This paper describes the workover and recompletion methods used to eliminate sand production on two horizontal wells identified as sand producers. The paper discusses the selection and performance of non-damaging drill-in-fluids utilised during the workover operations. The specific procedures to install prepacked screens and clean up the wells while minimising productivity impairment are presented. Results show the workovers eliminated sand production without significantly reducing well productivity, proving this is a viable method for future well interventions.
