Abstract
Oil Companies who are generally the Operators of offshore Jack Up drilling rigs have a requirement to be able to assess the structural integrity, the drilling capabilities, and safety aspects of these units. Given that the units are designed against a generic specification it is frequently complex to differentiate between the standards and potential performance of individual rigs. This paper addresses the Operator's requirements for Jack up structural integrity and the desired performance of the drilling equipment.
