This paper describes the design and prototype testing of a 15,000 psi, next-generation surface wellhead for jack-up drilling. The system features metal-to-metal annulus seals and an adjustable mandrel hanger which allows space out and permits controlled pre-tensioning of casing strings above conventional mudline suspension systems.
