The intent of this paper is to document the major accomplishments achieved in the completion/workover of 28 wells using dynamically positioned (DP) units in the Campos Basin. The initial jobs were performed on wells equipped with conventional guideline trees and drilling bases and located in areas congested with subsea facilities.

Minor changes of equipment design and operational procedures, permitted the successful performance of DP units on those conventional equipment.

Based on the experience acquired from the forementioned jobs, guidelineless trees were designed and successfully installed in the Marlim field, at water depth beyond 700 m.
