Abstract
TAD systems are in use and planned for future usage in the Norwegian Continental Sector of the North Sea. The NPD experience has been positive when compared to more traditional field development designs. The paper will explain the advantages gained by such TAD systems with respect to risk to personnel, environment and invested equipment.
The main contributing factors fall under the category of frequency of ‘Residual Accidental Events’, which appear to be lower with TAD systems.
The bridging system providing a safe protected escape route from such accidents as blowouts, riser ruptures, fires and explosions on either the wellhead platform or the TAD vessel, is the single most beneficial sub system.
Both the wellhead platform and the TAD vessel, is the single most beneficial sub system.
Both the wellhead platform and the TAD vessel are built or upgraded to meet NPD regulations for production installations.
