The use of pour point depressants to provide pipeline restart protection in systems transporting paraffinic crude оil is dramatically illustrated by the successful restart of the Kotter system after an unplanned three week shutdown. This unfortunate event created an infrequent opportunity to compare predictive laboratory generated data with actual field restart data.
