Abstract
BOET have recently developed an economic method for the production of sub-marginal oil fields based on separating oil, gas and water subsea. Produced oil and water can either be exported via a tanker or alternatively pumped as a single phase pump to a production platform.
This paper presents the concept, summarises the economics and details the experience gained todate from the design, fabrication, installation and commissioning of pilot unit installed on Hamilton's Argyll field in the North Sea.
