Abstract
The Offshore Supplies Office (OSO) was established as a Division of the Department of Energy in 1973. Its main task was, and remains, to assist the development of the UK offshore supplies industry. It pursues this objective in 3 broad ways – by seeking to ensure that no constraints are placed on the ability of UK industry to compete for UKCS business; by assisting and encouraging the UK supplies industry in export markets; and by seeking to strengthen the technological capability of the UK industry.
