The E&P industry has up till today had two lightweight intervention methodologies for live production- and injection wells, being wireline or coiled tubing.

A third methodology, being the Ziebel ZipLog™ solution which is based on pushing a spoolable specially constructed carbon "rod" into live and pressurized wells, has been successfully developed and deployed into horizontal wellbores in the Middle East as well as North America.

This paper describes the background for the solution, the development and qualification program, the wellbore interventions performed and what the authors think the system can be further developed into.
